Mindfulness for Kids and Teens in Nature ~
With the growing demands and pressures of living in a fast-paced environment, it is more important than ever to slow down and spend time reconnecting with the healing presence of nature. Since anxiety and depression have become the norm in many high stress areas, it should not come as a surprise that our kids are often suffering from these overwhelming emotions as well. Not unlike many adults, our kids have a hard time managing their emotions. In their desire to please their parents, teachers and get into their colleges of choice, children and adolescents are finding it harder and harder to cope with life’s daily expectations at home and at school.
In response to these challenges, we offer our program, “Mindfulness for Kids and Teens in Nature” to help the new generations find their balance in an ever moving and changing world. Through this program, children and teens will learn to develop a healthier sense of self with the use of mindfulness activities involving deep breathing and visualization techniques. By connecting with nature at the Energy Sanctuary, kids will also learn to take on a more grounded approach to their own daily tasks and responsibilities as well as those of the larger community, encouraging sentiments of altruism, teamwork and cooperation towards each other and Mother Nature Herself.
