Guiding Farming Principles:
Everyone is Invited: The earth loves everyone, as such we welcome all ages and all walks of life. We can all benefit from Life is Sacred: We believe that not just our farm dogs and farm animals are sacred, but all life is sacred.. including the insects and plants and trees. If you haven't had the chance to be in a place where life knows it is respected and honored, we can't wait for you to visit and experience the vibrance and harmony nature provides. Organic is the Starting Point: We love organic! Also, that is the tip of the iceberg :) We practice a non-chemical, non-gmo, closed system, high yielding method of energetic farming. Reduce Waste to Zero: More than just recycling, we will look to ancient and new technologies including, composting, grey water and hydroponics. Permaculture: Permaculture takes into account "the whole system", whether it is planet earth, the local microclimate or our own garden. In using the principles of permaculture, we seek to optimize the natural patterns and resilient features observed in ecosystems to benefit life in all its forms. Seeding Reciprocity will use these principles in a growing number of fields from regenerative agriculture, rewilding, and community resilience. |
Essential Empowerment Experiences:
Conscious Kids Garden Village We incorporate garden-based science, nutrition and nature in a year-round educational gardening and environmental impact program for kids and teens ages K-12. We also teach about the cultural heritage of the food we grow (we feature many varieties grown by the people who once lived on our land) as well incorporating lifestyle practices such and mindfulness and yoga. Morning/Afternoon in the Garden: Those who farm know that the most powerful and peaceful times to commune with the earth are dawn and dusk. We will offer morning and afternoon gardening experiences for those who want to participate and learn. Seed Saving & Planting: Mother nature is truly abundant. Did you know that most non-hybridized plants (when they are healthy and able to move through their cycles) produce 1000's of seeds for every singe seed they sprouted from? Learn the basics of how and when to save seeds. Growing Plants in Harmony With Nature: Beyond seed saving we can remember how to plant seeds, not only with the larger cycles of the seasons but also with he cycles of the moon. Volunteer Work Single/Multi Day Stays with Farm to Table Lunch: As we lift off the ground, our volunteer days will be excellent immersion in living in harmony with nature and growing food and medicine.
